Rainbow Tinseltail and the other students at Sparklegrove School for Unicorns are excited when a brand new unicorn, Sunny Huckleberry, enters the school, but Sunny does not know what his special magical power is, and the thought that he might not have any power at all is making him unhappy; Rainbow (whose power is granting wishes) is eager to help him--even though he does not seem to want her help.

When Mrs. Featherbottom places Eva in a different club from Lucy and Hailey, Eva misses her best friends, but she learns new things about her classmates, and discovers that someone in her club is missing a friend too.

Eva's class is putting on a play, Snowy White and the seven owlets, but Eva is a little disappointed when she is cast as the Magic Mirror (and Snowy White's understudy); the owl students are making all the sets, props, and costumes, and rehearsal is a little chaotic--but the play is going well until Snowy White hurts her leg and Eva has to fill in for real.

When Eva hurts her wing, she visits the hospital and meets a new friend, Rocco, who has a broken leg--but wearing a sling for a week prevents her from writing in her diary, and she turns to her friends and family in order to keep it up to date.

Unicorn Bo and friends attend the Big Festival of Magic hoping to show off their magical skills, but when all the magic goes missing they must find a way to find and return the magic.

Bo Tinseltail and friends welcome a jackalope family to Sparklegrove Forest, and when they learn the family is being chased by centaurs everyone bands together to help the jackalopes live in peace.
